The javelins are forgiving for beginning-level throwers but provide enough stiffness to generate long throws for more skilled javelin throwers.
Thrower X Flex Javelin: ideal stiffness for training and competition with a low to moderate stiffness rating (approximately 10.0).

Javelin Stiffness: Elite-level javelins have a stiffness rating of 6.5 or lower; the stiffer the javelin, the less it will flex/vibrate in the air and will result in less air drag. The downside is that it puts much more strain on the upper body, especially the elbow.
